On Saturday, September 22nd, RUBAU BOLIVIA, along with the population of Santa Cruz and the Bolivian Government, celebrated the opening of the Puente Taperas – La Palizada road. The Vice President of State, Álvaro García Linera, inaugurated this important road section carried out by RUBAU BOLIVIA. It has undoubtedly been one of the most noteworthy projects of GRUPO RUBAU, both due to the location of the works, which have made necessary to build a construction workers’ camp, and for the impact it has had on the modernization of the country.
The road’s total length is 40.95 kilometers that joins the productive regions of the Aiquile (Cochabamba) and Saipina (Santa Cruz) cities. The width of the platform is 9 meters and the width of the road is 7 meters with two 3.5 meter per lane (round trip). Additionally, three bridges have been built: Saipina (90 meters), Quebrada Grande (30 meters) and Pulquina (30 meters), which will allow the continuous flow of natural, economic and human resources, facilitating passage over large rivers, in rainy seasons. The section is part of one of the arms of the ‘Y’ of the Integration that includes the Puente Arce-Aiquile-La Palizada route, being part of the Fundamental Road Network. It is considered a national priority, as it integrates the departments of Santa Cruz , Cochabamba and Chuquisaca.
