maintain a firm commitment to the prevention of Accidents in the workplace.
Thus, since 1997 the company has implemented a System of Prevention of Accidents
in the Workplace based on the UNE 81900 EX rule which since 1998 has been
integrated into the CPM system of the company along with the Management
of Quality and the Environment systems.
The Management System forms a framework from which the company incorporates
the most modern technical preventative processes into its centres of work.
For this reason, the following stand out:

Training.
Definition of a Training Plan innovator which includes specific training
for the necessities of each work and that includes the subcontractors
involved. |

Auditing.
System of internal auditing of the works which includes inspections
of Prevention of Accidents in the Workplace at the site and the documents
which can be generated in order to respond to the demands of our System
of prevention and the current legislation. |

Comission
of Health and Safety.
Organ for following the Safety and security plan of the works and
of co-ordination of the safety in general, which meets at least once
a month with the works team, with the co-ordinator of the question
of Prevention of Accidents in the Workplace and the Chiefs of the
various subcontractors. |

Security
Plans.
The security plans of CONSTRUCCIONES RUBAU S.A. have been adopted
by numerous public organisations in order to study the projects to
come thanks to their innovations and their adaptation to each work |

Award
of CONSTRUCCIONES RUBAU S.A. for safety.
In order to stimulate and encourage the contribution of the subcontractors
to the Prevention of Accidents in the Workplace, so important in the
construction industry, the company has created an annual prize for
the best subcontractor in this area. The award winners are chosen
from among more than 1000 that participate in the works and is awarded
by members of the Management and of the company. This initiative is
pioneered in Catalonia.. |
| The implementation
of all these measures and of others, and the reduction in the number
of accidents in the company, has permitted the securing of the DIPLOOS
prize, National Prize of Safety in the Workplace. This important prize,
which is given by the Association for the Prevention of Accidents,
APA, is nation-wide and in the last 31 editions of the prize, has
never been won by a constructor, making CONSTRUCCIONES RUBAU S.A.,
therefore, the first in the Spanish State to be awarded |

In the same way, in the
month of November, DOSSIER ECONOMIC gave CONSTRUCCIONES RUBAU S.A.
the Economy and Business for the Prevention of Accidents in the Workplace
Award. This important recognition was presented by the president of the
Regional Government, the Right Honourable Mr Jordi Pujol. |
