Rubau has completed the urban integration works on the N-502A road as it passes through Talavera de la Reina (Toledo), a project promoted by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility that has transformed 4.5 kilometres of the former road through the town and improved its integration into the urban environment.
The project, with an investment of €7 million, was carried out along different sections of Avenida de Portugal, Paseo Padre Juan de Mariana, Avenida Real Fábrica de Sedas, Ronda del Cañillo and the area along the southern bank of the River Tagus.
The works included the comprehensive renovation and widening of pavements, the implementation of new cycle lanes and sections shared by cyclists and motorised traffic, as well as various traffic-calming measures. The project also included the modernisation of public lighting, the relocation and renewal of utilities, and the installation of new urban furniture.
The project has transformed the character of the former road through the town, creating new spaces for pedestrians and cyclists and promoting safer, more accessible and sustainable mobility, while improving the quality and functionality of public space.
The works were financed with European funds under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) and are aligned with the objectives of promoting more sustainable and active urban mobility.
With the completion of this project, Rubau continues to build on its experience in urban transformation and integration projects, delivering infrastructure designed to improve mobility, accessibility and the quality of public space.
