RUBAU TO CONSTRUCT A NEW MATERNITY AND PAEDIATRIC CLINIC IN COLOMBIA

RUBAU continues to expand its presence in Colombia with the construction of a new maternity and paediatric unit at the Tolima clinic, in the city of Ibagué, in the mid-western part of the country.

The new unit, which has a budget of over 14 million euros, is owned by a group of professionals associated with the healthcare sector. The project brings together a full range of maternity and paediatric care and services in one building, including emergency room, intensive care unit (ICU), surgery, obstetrics, hospitalization and chemotherapy for women and children.

The construction work will be carried out entirely by RUBAU, and will be completed over a period of 24 months beginning this November. The building comprises five floors and two underground levels. The construction of the unit, the predecessor of which has until now provided care for an average of 3,500 users a year, will allow it to increase its capacity thereby reducing morbidity, disability and death rates among women and children.

RUBAU has wide experience in the field of healthcare facilities, notably the construction of the institute of preventive medicine, the CIMA clinic, an international clinic of advanced medicine in Barcelona and, more recently, the construction of a primary care centre and residential home for people with disabilities in Barcelona’s Via Augusta.
