RUBAU GROUP ACQUIRES AREMA

GRUPO RUBAU has bought the Barcelona company Agua, Residuos y Medio Ambiente S.A. (AREMA). With this acquisition, RUBAU’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda and its objectives of sustainable development and ecological transition are reinforced. 

AREMA, founded in 1995, is a company that works to offer solutions in the world of water, waste, and the environment. Specialized in the execution of projects and the construction, commissioning, and exploitation of water treatment plants, its main business areas are urban and industrial wastewater treatment, drinking water treatment, processing water for industry, desalination, regeneration and reuse of water, sludge treatment, and leachate treatment.

AREMA boasts a wide-ranging professional experience. More than 15 years ago, the company began an internationalisation process to offer new markets and new ways of working, which has led to delegations and commercial representations in different countries of Central and South America, as well as in Eastern Europe. and North Africa. 

To lead this new company, RUBAU has appointed Sergio Pepió, one of the most prominent professionals in the water sector nationwide. Pepió is a Civil Engineer and holds a Master’s degree in Construction Management from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. His professional career has been developed in the world of water, where he has held various positions of responsibility, being head of the Projects division of the Agbar Group, Managing Director of PESA Environment, and President of the Spanish Association of Water Technology Companies, ASAGUA.
