RUBAU AWARDED THE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT OF PERU´S MAIN ROAD NETWORK WORTH €26 MILLION

October, 2020

RUBAU will commence conservation work, worth €26 million, on a total of 382 km of one of Peru´s main road networks, known as the Pan-American Highway South (PE-1S), at the end of the month. The road crosses the country along the coast from north to south with the epicentre in the Ica Region, and the maintenance contract was awarded by Provías Nacional. The two road routes linking Guadalupe, Ica, Palpa and Nasca, on the one hand, and Marcona, Chala and Ático, on the other, are expected to be completed within three years.

The routine and periodic maintenance of the two road routes in the Ica region will be carried out on a stretch of 382.14 km over 36 months, and will consist mainly of asphalting and treating cracks. On the one hand, routine maintenance work will be performed, without machinery, to clean ditches and carry out drainage work, manually remove small landslides or repair potholes. On the other hand, the periodic maintenance work, which will be carried out on a stretch of 157 km, will involve the use of machinery to carry out resurfacing work, build walls or replace signs.

This award brings our road maintenance projects to over 2,000 km, both nationally and internationally. After seven years operating in Peru in hydraulic and airport works, we are now undertaking projects in the field of road maintenance in order to ensure the optimal condition of a vital infrastructure section for the country.
