RUBAU GROUP, in a joint venture with Aquaterra and Group MLN, has been awarded Lot 3 for the sanitation works of Canal de Isabel II’s network in the Community of Madrid. Canal de Isabel II is a public company that manages various municipalities in the Madrid region.
The allocated lot for RUBAU has a budget exceeding 65 million euros and encompasses several municipalities in the southeast of Madrid, including Arganda, Griñón, Humanes, Tielmes, Valdilecha, and San Martín, among others. The scope of work includes the installation, renewal, or improvement of sewer collectors, the construction of wastewater pumping stations, the renewal of household connections, and other associated infrastructures. This is not a single project but rather multiple projects yet to be determined. Canal Isabel II will define the areas of operation and communicate their needs so that the joint venture is responsible for both project planning and execution, subject to the approval of Canal Isabel II and in cooperation with the municipalities where the project is carried out.
The purpose of the contract is to execute the works related to the actions outlined in the sewer infrastructure execution agreements under the SANEA Plan, in which Canal de Isabel II manages the sewer maintenance service. This is one of Canal Isabel II’s key projects for the years 2018-2030, designed with the goal of collaborating with municipalities to enhance the sanitation networks in the Community of Madrid. The plan is the primary tool of the public company to develop comprehensive studies on these networks and propose actions aimed at resolving identified issues and addressing future challenges proactively.
RUBAU GROUP carries out all its projects with the aim of promoting the circular economy through innovation, sustainability, and social and environmental responsibility. The execution of these projects will optimize the management of sanitation networks and reduce discharges into the sewer system. The objective is to improve wastewater treatment and ensure the quality of riverbeds, all while respecting the environment and making more efficient use of the energy required for these processes.
