Last week the mayor of Cali, Maurice Armitage, together with the Secretary for Infrastructure and Recovery, Gustavo Jaramillo, visited the works being carried out on the Avenida Ciudad de Cali by a business consortium of which RUBAU is the principle member.
The work being undertaken consists of the building of two road bridges, one over the Canal Interceptor Sur and the other over the Meléndez River; connecting bridges for cyclists; and a road with a total length of 1,100 metres and a width of 60 metres between the planned bridges, connecting the roads Carrera 49 and Carrera 81a. This is the first new, large-scale infrastructure project to be undertaken by the new mayor, which it is hoped will be completed with minimal delay in order to provide substantially improved mobility for the residents of the districts of El Caney, Ciudad Córdoba and Valle del Lili by the end of next year.
