PRENERGY BUILDS THE FIRST RESIDENTIAL PROJECT OF MES BARCELONA PROGRAM

December, 2023

PRENERGY, the renewable energy and energy efficiency specialist subsidiary of Grupo RUBAU, has constructed the first residential project of the MES Barcelona program. This program is a public-private collaboration promoted by the City Council with the goal of supporting and accelerating the city’s energy transition alongside private investors.

The 2030 Agenda serves as the roadmap for the city’s public policies, and with the MES Barcelona project, the City Council aims to boost the generation of photovoltaic energy in both large-scale projects (such as industrial warehouses, logistics centers, office buildings, etc.) and on the rooftops of residential buildings. Grupo RUBAU, through PRENERGY, has become the first approved company to carry out a residential project. This involves the installation of a photovoltaic self-consumption system in the Community of Neighbors on Villar Street in Barcelona. This system will enable the community to save 48% annually on their electricity bill, and surplus solar energy will be sold to the electrical grid.

PRENERGY, a company offering comprehensive solutions in the energy sector with a focus on circular economy and sustainability, participates in the MES Barcelona project as a specialized co-investor in financing, design, construction, and maintenance of renewable energy generation facilities, as well as the rehabilitation of buildings based on energy efficiency.
