On the 19 September a strong seismic shock with a magnitude of 7.1 hit the sudden central zone of Mexico on the 32nd anniversary of the 1985 quake. Until now 358 casualties have been confirmed and the federal government has declared the catastrophe as an “extraordinary emergency”. Because of this, local authorities have been given access to emergency funds.
RUBAU MEXICO, together with its partners from Toluca Train Workshop an Depot Joint Venture came together to help the victims of the earthquake, donating more than 90.000 Mexican pesos. This amount was allocated for the purchase of food and other goods for storage at a center Jojutla (Morales).
The team, that includes RUBAU GROUP professionals in Mexico, also worked on rescuing and aid to the affected by using oxycutting devices and 12 welders were taking away the rubble. Our professionals were sent to one of the 38 buildings affected in Mexico City, where they assisted in the rescue efforts.
RUBAU would like to express our deepest sympathy and solidarity with the victims and their families. Likewise, we thank our professionals, who rose to the occasion, for their rescuing and aid work.
