RUBAU BEGINS RENOVATION AND IMPROVEMENT WORK ON THE RUNWAY AT JAUJA AIRPORT IN PERU

July, 2016

On 7 July, Peru’s Minister of Transport and Communications, José Gallardo, presided over the official groundbreaking ceremony for work on the project to improve the runway at Jauja Airport. This contract, worth approximately four million euros, was awarded to the Peru Consortium of which Rubau is a member, on 27 May.

The work, which will take three months to complete, has created positive expectations in the region for the range of economic and social advantages that it is expected to offer. The renovation and improvement of the runway surface will increase both the level of service and safety at the airport, allowing access by larger sized aircraft, thus allowing the Mantaro area to be linked by air with the coast, increasing the area’s tourist potential and boosting the local economy.

This contract represents the further consolidation of Rubau’s presence in the Peruvian market, helping the country to grow and keeping people connected with the construction and improvement of transport infrastructure.
