RUBAU, in a joint venture with Romero Polo, has started the works that will transform the emblematic Rambla of Barcelona. This is the first of the five planned sections that runs from the Columbus Monument to Santa Madrona. The intervention, with an expected duration of 18 months, will turn the area into a comfortable, green, friendly and cultural promenade with more space for pedestrians.
With this first section, La Rambla will undergo an important change, which will modify the layout of Drassanes Avenue to improve the connection with the coast and will lengthen the promenade with a new urban space for pedestrians that will widen the Rambla itself in its final section. A square with trees will also be created, designed to encourage social uses and renew the encounter between the promenade, the Drassanes and Colón. Among the planned improvements, the following stand out:
The works will be carried out in phases, to avoid the simultaneous occupation of both sides of the road. When acting on the up and down roads, it will be done in halves, so that access and the passage of neighbors, services, bicycles and emergency vehicles will be guaranteed. Fords and car parks will also be accessible at all times, and there will be no disruption to public transport.
RUBAU is proud to carry out the execution of works that value and claim, as a citizen and cultural space, La Rambla, the most iconic promenade in Barcelona.
